The University Faculty Council (UFC) is the voice for faculty on all UT campuses throughout the system. The UFC is composed of the Faculty Senate presidents on each campus, an elected representative from each campus and the faculty representatives to the Board of Trustees. Council members attend all Board of Trustees meetings and meet regularly with Interim President Randy Boyd and members of his staff. Since its formation in 2007, the UFC has been instrumental in advocating for positive change and leading many critical discussions. We actively participate in the strategic planning task forces and have advocated for more transparency across the campuses about budgetary concerns, promotion and merit raises, and equitable library access for all campuses.

Our top priority is to provide a strong faculty voice and work with the President and central administration to develop sustainable strategies for the UT System. Changes in the higher education climate in Tennessee will necessitate more proactive action in the advocacy world. The UFC encourages stakeholders across the UT System to become more active in the UT advocacy program, and we encourage all faculty members to visit advocacy.tennessee.edu and learn how you can become more involved.

We want to maintain open lines of communication among campuses. Please contact any of your council representatives if you have a concern or question regarding our work on behalf of the faculty. We will advocate for you on all matters of concern to the UT System Administration and Board of Trustees.
