Initiatives and Events
The Office of Academic Affairs and Student Success regularly coordinates system-wide initiatives and events in support of faculty, students, and administrators. Some of our upcoming events in 2017 include:
The Tennessee Higher Education Commission and the University of Tennessee have partnered up to host the first annual Tennessee Transfer Summit for transfer admissions counselors, registrars, directors of advising and adult learner contacts with a focus on ensuring the success of transfer students. The summit will be held Feb. 22-23, 2017, at the Embassy Suites Nashville SE-Murfreesboro hotel.
UT’s first Math Summit, to be held March 24-25 in Knoxville, will provide an opportunity for all math instructors on the Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Martin campuses to network, share information, and learn new and effective teaching strategies to best serve our students. All UT Math Instructors and Administrators (Deans, Department Heads, Faculty, Lecturers, and GTAs are welcome).
SGA Leadership Welcome
This June, UT will host its second annual welcome event for newly-elected Student Government Association leaders. For two days, students will network, develop their team-building and leadership skills, meet with UT administrators, and begin developing action plans for the 2017-2018 academic year. Academic Chair Development Conference
Beginning this fall, the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Success, in collaboration with President DiPietro and the Office of Employee and Organizational Development, will invite all heads of academic units to a day of skill development, professional growth, and networking.
