UT’s first system-wide Math Summit, to be held in spring 2017, will provide an opportunity for all math instructors on the Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Martin campuses to network, share information, and learn new and effective teaching strategies to best serve our students. All UT Math Instructors and Administrators (Deans, Department Heads, Faculty, Lecturers, and GTAs are welcome).

The event will begin Friday, March 24 at 2:00pm and ends Saturday, March 25 at 1:00pm

All sessions will be held in Knoxville on the UTK campus at 1800 Melrose Avenue in the Black Cultural Center

Travel Information:

Note: If you are traveling to Knoxville from Chattanooga or Martin, all of your travel expenses will be paid.

We have reserved a room block for Friday evening at the Knoxville Four Points Sheraton, located on the UT Knoxville campus. The address is: 1109 White Avenue Knoxville, TN 37916. The hotel is located .9 mile from the Black Cultural Center.

The Office of Academic Affairs has a direct bill for 15 rooms, so you will only need to register via this link and your name will be provided to the hotel in the room list. You will receive your confirmation via email from Karen Brinkley.

The Provosts at UTC and UTM have generously offered to pay all transportation costs to Knoxville, in addition to the Per Diem rate for food. All meals and refreshments, with the exception of the optional social dinner on Friday evening, will be provided at the event.

If you plan to attend this event, please register no later than March 1, 2017. If you register late, we cannot guarantee you a hotel room.










Parking Information:

Friday Parking: you will need to have a parking pass displayed in the dash of your vehicle at all times between 8AM and 5PM. We can provide you with a pass on the day of the event. Alternatively, if you would prefer to have your pass mailed to you in advance, please email Karen Brinkley at: KBRINKL2@tennessee.edu anytime BEFORE MARCH 15.

Saturday Parking: you will not need a pass to park in any unreserved staff or student space. You may view the Campus Parking Map to determine where you would like to park, but we recommend the S23, S12, or S37 lots.
